TS Hoard

A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, TS Hoard was a first generation college student. He holds a B.A. in Sociology and Afro-American Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a M.A. in Teaching from Pace University, an Ed.M. in Educational Leadership from Fordham University, and an Ed.M. in Instructional Leadership from Relay Graduate School of Education.


As a 2006 Teach for America Corps Member and 2014 Ryan Fellow with the Accelerate Institute, TS spent his career teaching and leading within district and public charter schools in the greater New York City area. TS served with Uncommon Schools for 8 years as a principal at the middle and high school levels. In 2015, he was named the Brooklyn Borough Educator of the Year and earned the Brooklyn Borough President Citation Award. Under his leadership, the school saw double-digit gains in math and ELA on the NY State Exam and was recognized as Bed Stuy’s 2018 Most Improved Middle School. Currently, TS Hoard is a Doctoral student in the Mid-Career Ed.D Program at UPenn and an Associate Partner of New York Leadership Programs at Relay Graduate School of Education.


TS is passionate about developing and building future leaders who will create, participate in, and influence the social, political, and economic structures in contribution to our world.
