Stany Leblanc is a first-generation Haitian American originally from Long Island, New York. After attending college at Stanford University, he moved back to New York City in 2009 to join Teach for America and work at a new middle school in the South Bronx. After 13 years in his placement school as a 6th, 7th, and 8th grade English teacher and the Assistant Principal, he is beyond proud of the hundreds of students and teachers he taught, mentored, and coached throughout his tenure. Right now, he is in the final stages of his dissertation as part of Columbia University's Urban Education Leadership Program (UELP), where he is focusing on describing measures of success for new schools in NYC to hopefully inform new school support in the future.
Currently, he is also working at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative as a Program Associate on the Education team. He is focusing on education measurement and supporting organizations across the country as they innovate the way we measure success for our students.
