David Yancey currently holds the positions of Account Executive and Director of Client Services at The Skillman Corporation, a construction management firm located in Indianapolis, Indiana. A product of The Skillman Corporation’s Mentorship Program, David possesses extensive experience in all facets of the construction process. His exceptional understanding of business organizations, combined with his technical knowledge of the construction industry and contracting community, became evident during his crucial involvement in the successful completion of a complex $101,000,000 high school addition/renovation project. This achievement marked a significant milestone in his career, enabling him to lead the Skillman Student Engagement Program and spearhead Diverse Contractor Outreach Initiatives. Through the Student Engagement Program, David directly interacts with students in schools where Skillman is engaged in K-12 construction projects and recruits them to participate in educational modules designed to showcase the range of career opportunities within construction trades, construction management, and architecture/engineering professions. He has adeptly instructed students across Indiana on the protocols and procedures of dependable construction management practices, all while exposing them to construction projects taking place within their school district. Students are even empowered to present their experiences and newfound knowledge to their respective school board trustees. In addition to leading the Student Engagement Program, David has orchestrated over 15 outreach events, resulting in the award of more than $108M in contracts to minority-owned contractors. Growing up in a poverty-stricken area with limited opportunities, David's drive to give back is deeply rooted. He earned his bachelor's degree from Purdue University and an MBA from Indiana University. As an engaged board member and volunteer for IndyHub and Indianapolis ACE (Architectural, Construction, and Engineering) Mentorship, David consistently channels his energy into fostering positive change.
